Humanity, Artificial Intelligence, and the Future

Dr. Bluford believes the pursuit of immortality is no longer only a spiritual, philosophical, biological, or medical question. He believes it has become a central question concerning humanity’s relationship with artificial intelligence and advanced technology.

Artificial intelligence is increasingly influencing economics, communication, employment, scientific research, healthcare, information, decision-making, education, and global development.

Dr. Bluford argues that humanity must ensure these technologies are directed toward preserving, protecting, extending, and improving human life rather than displacing, controlling, dividing, or endangering it.

“The purpose of humans and AI should be to help life continue and overcome the forces that destroy it,” said Dr. Larry Bluford, Sr., PhD.

He believes humanity needs a strong worldwide community capable of participating in conversations about how artificial intelligence will be developed, governed, and used.

According to Dr. Bluford, Immortality Nation is therefore not only a movement for individual hope and self-development. It is also intended to become a community concerned with human survival, technological responsibility, scientific cooperation, and humanity’s long-term future.

Dr. Bluford points to artificial intelligence, climate instability, nuclear war, incurable diseases, social division, violence, poverty, and other global dangers as evidence that humanity must learn to cooperate around the preservation and continuation of life.

“Humanity must not wait until crisis becomes catastrophe,” said Dr. Bluford. “We must build a worldwide community that chooses life, wisdom, unity, scientific progress, and the highest possible future.”
